"Sixteen-year-old physics nerd Aysel is obsessed with plotting her own death. With a mother who can barely look at her without wincing, classmates who whisper behind her back, and a father whose violent crime rocked her small town, Aysel is ready to turn her potential energy into nothingness. There’s only one problem: she’s not sure she has the courage to do it alone. But once she discovers a website with a section called Suicide Partners, Aysel’s convinced she’s found her solution: a teen boy with the username FrozenRobot (aka Roman) who’s haunted by a family tragedy is looking for a partner.  Even though Aysel and Roman have nothing in common, they slowly start to fill in each other’s broken lives. But as their suicide pact becomes more concrete, Aysel begins to question whether she really wants to go through with it. Ultimately, she must choose between wanting to die or trying to convince Roman to live so they can discover the potential of their energy together. Except that Roman may not be so easy to convince." I liked My Heart and Other Black Holes. The writing was beautiful and I found myself writing down quite a few quotes.

My Heart and Other Black Holes is about Aysel who wants to commit suicide, but she doesn't have the courage to go through with it. When she turns to a website for help, she finds a suicide partner. As Aysel and Roman make their plans and count down the days, Aysel begins to question whether she still wants to go through with it or not.

Aysel and Roman were both interesting and complex characters. They both have these really complicated pasts and are feeling absolutely lost. Aysel and Roman have so much in common, but they still are so different from each other too. Aysel is struggling to cope with the crime that her father committed. It all happened so quick and she suddenly had to go live with her mom and half siblings. It also doesn't help that wherever she goes in town she is faced with the reminders. Then there is Roman who is struggling to live with so much guilt. I would have liked to see Roman developed a bit more.

The plot immediately grabbed my attention and held it until the end. I quickly became invested in these characters and wanted to know what would happen. As much as I liked that the plot took place over the span of a month, I did think that it felt rushed at times. I wanted to see some things developed more. I also found it to be really predictable after just a few chapters.

Overall I liked My Heart and Other Black Holes. It is essentially a story about finding someone that can relate to you.
