"I've seen him on the news. Followed the stories about what happened in Ohio. John Smith, out there, on the run. To the world, he's a mystery. But to me . . . he's one of us. Nine of us came here, but sometimes I wonder if time has changed us—if we all still believe in our mission. How can I know? There are six of us left. We're hiding, blending in, avoiding contact with one another . . . but our Legacies are developing, and soon we'll be equipped to fight. Is John Number Four, and is his appearance the sign I've been waiting for? And what about Number Five and Six? Could one of them be the raven-haired girl with the stormy eyes from my dreams? The girl with powers that are beyond anything I could ever imagine? The girl who may be strong enough to bring the six of us together? They caught Number One in Malaysia. Number Two in England. And Number Three in Kenya. They tried to catch Number Four in Ohio—and failed. I am Number Seven. One of six still alive. And I'm ready to fight." (Summary from goodreads.com)

Pittacus Lore's The Power of Six is the exciting sequel to I Am Number Four and picks up where it left off. John (Number Four), Number Six, and Sam are on the run after the fight with the Mogadorians in Paradise. Meanwhile in Spain, Number Seven is following the news reports on John and hopes for the day that she can meet up with him and join the fight.

I loved The Power of Six and found it nearly impossible to put down. The introduction of Marina (Number Seven) was a great addition and I enjoyed learning more about her life on earth as well as her legacies. I loved following along with John, Six, and Sam while they were on the run and the many dangerous situations they found themselves in. The relationship between John, Six, and Sam grows even more as the story progresses. Six is one of my favorite characters in the series because I love how tough she is but I did like the few moments when her softer side was evident.

The Power of Six is packed with action and many surprising twists. I was hesitant at first when I learned that the narrators would alternate between John and Marina because I loved reading from John's perspective in I Am Number Four. However, it helped move the plot along and I found myself immediately captivated by both Marina and John's stories. I can't wait to see where this story will go next and I am anxiously awaiting the next book in this series. I highly recommend The Power of Six and if you have not read it yet, I Am Number Four.
