"We all want to be remembered. Charlotte's destiny is to be Forgotten... Charlotte’s best friend thinks Charlotte might be psychic. Her boyfriend thinks she’s cheating on him. But Charlotte knows what’s really wrong: She is one of the Forgotten, a kind of angel on earth, who feels the Need—a powerful, uncontrollable draw to help someone, usually a stranger. But Charlotte never wanted this responsibility. What she wants is to help her best friend, whose life is spiraling out of control. She wants to lie in her boyfriend's arms forever. But as the Need grows stronger, it begins to take a dangerous toll on Charlotte. And who she was, is, and will become--her mark on this earth, her very existence--is in jeopardy of disappearing completely. Charlotte will be forced to choose: Should she embrace her fate as a Forgotten, a fate that promises to rip her from the lives of those she loves forever? Or is she willing to fight against her destiny--no matter how dark the consequences." (Summary from goodreads.com)

Suzanne Young's A Need So Beautiful is the story of Charlotte who is often overcome with the Need to go somewhere and help a complete stranger. As the Need becomes more consistent, Charlotte learns that she is one of The Forgotten who was sent to earth to help others and she will soon completely disappear. However, Charlotte wants to fight to stay with her best friend and boyfriend before they forget her.

I really enjoyed A Need So Beautiful and felt that it was a captivating and different story with compelling characters. I sympathized a great deal for Charlotte because she doesn't want to leave the ones she loves and she especially doesn't want them to forget about her. I enjoyed going on the journey with her as she learned who she was and what would happen to her. I loved Harlin and the relationship he shared with Charlotte. I liked that they had already been dating for a while when the book began because their relationship had already grown a great deal.

The plot picks up immediately in the first couple of pages and held my attention until the last page. I loved the last few chapters and the ending especially, although it does leave you with quite a few unanswered questions. I strongly recommend A Need So Beautiful and I will be highly anticipating the sequel.
